Okay, here's a little addendum to a post regarding Paul McCartney's discography in the Earth-130 timeline; the equivalent to Flaming Pie, Calico Skies, featuring Linda! Yes, sadly, she still dies in Earth-130, but there's little I could do about that.
Side A (20:45)
1. The Song We Were Singing - 3:54
2. Love's Full Glory - 3:46
3. Young Boy - 3:54
4. If You Wanna - 3:42 [edit]
5. Calico Skies - 2:32
6. The Light Comes From Within - 2:57
Side B (22:01)
7. Heaven on a Sunday - 4:02 [edit]
8. Endless Days - 3:11
9. Somedays - 4:15
10. Souvenir - 3:40
11. Appaloosa - 4:44
12. Great Day - 2:09
There were ten songs leftover from Flaming Pie, so I more or less used those as the backbone for Calico Skies. I dropped "Used to Be Bad", featuring Steve Miller, and "Really Love You", featuring Ringo, as I wanted it to be a purely duet album as much as possible. I figure both could still exist as B-sides, with "Really Love You" probably ending up as a B-side to The Beatles' "Now and Then".
As for Linda, I knew I had to whittle down her available material from Wide Prairie, starting with anything recorded with Wings during the 1970s, which is well over half of the album; this also includes "I Got Up", as it technically had origins going back to 1973. I also removed her two co-writes with Carla Lane - "The White Coated Man" and "Cow" - as they didn't fit the vibe or tone of the album. The final cut track was her cover of "Poison Ivy", leaving Linda with just four songs. "Love's Full Glory" was technically recorded while Wings were (just barely) active in 1980, but there was no way I could ignore it; likewise with "Endless Days", giving Linda a pure solo spot, even if it was a recording from 1987. "Appaloosa" and "The Light Comes From Within" were both recorded in 1998, the final recordings Linda ever made, making their inclusion all the more poignant.
Editing wise, there wasn't a whole lot of work to do. I trimmed both "If You Wanna" and "Heaven on a Sunday", although I'm not sure if it's necessary since the album's already shorter than 45 minutes. I also made sure that each song smoothly transitioned from one to the next - "Calico Skies" into "The Light Comes From Within", I think, makes for an interesting transition. Likewise, "Souvenir" leads into "Appaloosa", and I inserted the ending orchestra after "Great Day". The final touch was the album cover, with a photo of Paul and Linda on their Scotland farm in 1980.
And in case anyone's wondering, I've decided to have the Earth-130 story end in 1999, and Paul's album from that year, Run Devil Run, remains unchanged. Similarly, Ringo's Vertical Man is basically the same as the resequencing I did back in July, but with "King of Broken Hearts" replaced with the BestBuy exclusive track "Sometimes", and I Wanna Be Santa Claus is also unchanged. I think it'd be better to leave things open ended regarding the three surviving Beatles as they enter a new millennium, and as far as Earth-130 solo albums go, that's pretty much your lot.
